Heart of Gold Adventures 2022 Trip:

After our 2020 and 2021 trips were cancelled due to the global Covid-19 pandemic, we were thrilled to bring seven new Youth Ambassadors to Nepal for our third Heart of Gold Adventures. Carisa Borrelo joined Elise Gold and Mathew Swerdloff as trip leaders.

Our itinerary was full with lectures, site visits, service work, meals together, exploring back alleys around the Great Stupa at Boudhanath, and bonding as a group. Each of our Youth Ambassadors was challenged to explore and express their feelings about the day at our evening “Community Meeting”, and we love getting to know them more and more each day.

We spent two days at the Ganesh School. Our team took on three projects; painting a mural, playing indoor games, and playing outdoor games. We worked alongside Nepali teens from Himalayan Children’s Charities, a Nepali NGO we are blessed to call a partner. In spite of the heat there was much fun and much accomplished.
